Phil Moore, Microsoft UK head of mobility told in a Q&A session at the Connect technology summit in London that Windows Mobile 7 is not coming very soon as it is rumored to be launched in the beginning of 2010. After his this conformation we can say that Microsoft has plan to launch new Windows Mobile by the end of 2010.
Furthermore Phil Moore said:
“It has been put back until late next year but it is definitely coming. You’re going to see a lot more on Windows Mobile 7. Giving the enterprise users and consumers what they want will be part of Windows Mobile 7. You’ll get flexibility on a much easier touch UI.”
This is not the first delay by Microsoft towards launching a new product as Windows Mobile 7 OS is under development since 2005 and was promised for 2008. Due to this too much delay in launch of Windows Mobile 7 it seems that Microsoft will not be able to present it even at Mobile World Congress 2010 which is expected in the beginning of next year.
On the other hand the delay in the launch of Windows Mobile 7 may be because of the launch by its rival smart phone manufacturer Apple who has recently rolled out iPhone 3GS and probably this is not good time for Microsoft to launch a new smart phone in market where already a most demanding iPhone mobile device is the Apple of smart phone customer’s eye.
